question math quiz
Today for maths we did a 100 question math quiz. The teacher had to time 10 minutes and you had to finish in between 10 minutes. The first test was a multiplying test and the second test was a division test. The first test I did I got 100/100, and my time was 7:09. And the second test I got 100/100 and my time was 8:02. The test was pretty fun.

New Playground
I am going to write about what I think about our new playground. The playgrond is cool but there is one thing on there that carries the playground. There is a spinny thing on the playground and you can sit on it and people can spin it for you in order for it to spin. Everything else in the playground is pretty boring, there is a big slide, a wooden swing bridge, monkey bars, swings, and a big platform. The playround is smaller than the other playground which sucks because the old playground was bigger and we used to play busted on the old playground. But this playground you can't play busted because there isn't much things to play it on. There is my opinion for the new playground.

maths
Today for maths we had to make a cube and a 3d triangle. This is my triangle it was sort of hard but it was fun. For the cube you had to make the sides 3cm wide, you also had to make flaps on it so it could fold up to make the final shape. It was awesome.

Surfing
This morning a group of us went surfing. My only friends I knew there were Adam, Yago, Ashur and Angus. We had to go to the shed and pick a wetsuit and stock surfboards in a container attached to the van. When we put up a surfboard each we got in the van and drove to the beach. When we got there we put the surfboards from the van to the beach. When we each put one to the beach we got changed. After I got changed I went down to the beach and waited for the teacher Mr Redmond to come down and give us drills. After he gave us drills we got to go and surf. The waves didn't look big but when you were in the water they were big. Me and my friends Angus and Yago were sticking together and just mucking around in the water. I caught some waves but most of the time the waves didnt crash at the right time. After about an hour we had to get out and get changed. We all put the surfboards in the container and then got in the van and went.
Test
Today after first break we had to do a test. The test was a Maori test. We did the test on nzcer.online.co.nz. The test was just about what you say if someone greets you this in maori and a bunch of sayings in maori and how you react. Some of the questions were like what does this mean in english and it will have pictures of things on your body like mouth, ear, nose and hand. You had to guess the right one. There were about 25 questions, I got more then half of them right because I had no knowledge of Maori whatsoever. And after the test we just got to go on math games and then go to break.
Eleven ways manners can change school
Eleven ways manners can change the world
When someone greets you don’t just walk by say hi to them and if they ask how you are doing say good thank you or however your day is going and then ask them how they are doing.
When you are doing something wrong don’t lie and argue with the teachers because you will make the situation worse and then everyone else has to put up with the teachers being grumpy.
When you are told to tidy up in groups, don’t just stand there and watch, help them out because even if you didn’t make any mess you chose to sit with them and so then you have to help.
If a teacher asks you to do something just listen to them and be respectful don’t argue or not listen to them.
When the teacher is talking to you don’t talk to someone else or not pay attention because they will notice you and then ask you what you have to do and you will have no idea what and then you will get told off
If someone is using manners, use manners back and don’t be disrespectful.
I keep my hands to myself to stop causing distraction and listen to the teacher so don’t do it to anyone else.
If a teacher is talking to you don’t tell them to be quiet because it might be something important and you will just make a fool out of yourself and make the teachers mad at you
If the teacher exposes you of something you did don’t try and lie and argue about it just own up and apologize.
When the teachers say hats off don’t argue just take the hat off and then everything will be easy.
If a teacher lets other people go first all the time and not your group don’t argue because then you will go last.

Mathigon Tangrams
Last week on Wednesday we went on a math site called Mathigon. It is a shape game where you have to rotate, flip and slide pieces. You have multiple shapes to complete by putting them in the right position and rotating, flip or sliding them to fit. It is harder than you think but it is a good game and it's pretty fun.

Sailing
Yesterday I went to lake rua for sailing. Our transport was a bus and a van. I went in the bus and sat with mu mum, when we arrived I got my bag and we walked to the container with the people running the program. When we got to the container we put our bags down and we had to listen to the people, they split us into groups and then the people showed us how to make the dhingy. When they showed us we had to get our own boat out of the container and put up the sail and turny thing. It was pretty easy to make because my mum helped me and I had 2 other people in my group. When we finished the sailboats we had morning tea and then got changed into our togs. When we all got changed we helped put boats in the water and we got taught how to actually sail and turn the boat. It took a while but then we went down to where the boats were and we all had turns going in the sail boats. We had to go around a buoy not that far from the surface and then turn around and come back. It was pretty cool and funny because there were a lot of people capsizing. When everyone had a turn we went back to the containers and had our lunch. When we finished lunch we got more boats in the water and had to go further out to the buoys and had more turns. It was really fun but time went fast. Our teacher blew a whistle and we had to get all the boats out the water, get the sails off, make them neat and put all of the stuff back in the container. After everyone put the sails down and put the boats and sails in the container We got to go swimming. We couldn't go swimming for long but it was cool. After about 10 - 14 minutes we got out and got changed into our clothes. It took a long time because some people were mucking around in the changing rooms. After about 25 minutes we walked to the footpath and waited for the bus and then went back to school.
this is the boat we used (optimist boat/ dhingy)

After about an hour I went back to the bus and went to the cafe and bought myself a powerade. Had something to eat and went back to eat with my friend. After about half an hour later I went to the ski field again for about an hour and then we had to pack up and go because it was too windy.

techno
For cooking we made Fried Rice, it was really fun to make and tasted really good. After cooking we went outside for break time, I had some of my food and then the bell rang. Then we had electronics, I walked inside and put my bag up in the bag racks. Then went into class and sat down with my book. Then we did out work, After about an hour the bell rang, we packed up and went to the court to line up for the bus. When my line was called we walked to the bus and sat down next to my friend Yago. On our trip back Yago and I played on my phone. When we arrived at school I walked off the bus, said thanks to the bus dirver and went to class. When I got to class I ate my lunch then went out to break with my friends.

Matariki letter
This is what I've learnt about Matariki.
I've leart that Tupu-a-nuku is the oldest of Matariki's daughters and Waiti and Waita are twins. Also matariki has been a fun task for me and I have learnt a bit about matariki. I also learnt that Tupu-a-nuku spends time with papatuanuku with plants and makes sure they grow big and strong so they can produce food, medicine and food materials.
Matariki
I've been doing activities and finding out what each star means and its personality. I learnt that Tupu-A-Nuku is the oldest of Matariki's daughters, and Waiti and Waita are Matariki's twins. Also We did a activity sheet with cross words and tasks that envolve Matariki.
Do you know anything else about matariki

Eel learning
We learned where eels live in New Zealand and other species like white bait.
She also told us about how we can keep them alive and how they are dying, and told us that they grow up in creeks and streams then go out to the ocean to Tonga and lay their eggs and then die.
She told us that old females can lay up to 1million eggs but less then 2% make it back alive due to sharks, drafts and other fish. When the liitle eels make it back they grow up in banks and rivers then do the same again. There are 3 types of fish species called, eels, galaxiids and bullies.
Do you know anything bout eels?
